The Power of Hope...When Grief is a Journey you may have to take.
As I sit down for my morning devotions, I find I'm still having trouble comprehending all that I am processing about this sorrow. I know that I read about all the Bible verses that give us hope in these times of grief.
Psalma 34:18 " The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Isiah 40:29 " He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak,"
I am very aware from being a Christ believer for many years that all God's scripture is for real.
I've been through other struggles, heartaches, and sorrows, so I know His word is my source for trusting Him.
The Lord knows when we are suffering, He knows when we are dealing with grief and loss and we need His help. Because of how much He loves us, when we feel pain, His heart hurts as well. But, it's at this time He puts us under His protection so that we can heal and grieve in the comfort of His arms. Under His Wings, under his wings, as the song says.
That is a remarkable promise that I can relate to. I hope you, my friend can also.
Bible verses about grief remind us that, no matter what happens, God is on our side.
May I tell you that it's been about three months now since the departure of my husband of fifty-eight years. I expected it to be hard, but, I never expected it to keep hurting, and finding myself not understanding, to just where do I belong.
It's when this type of sorrow comes into your life that you start to process your grief in your way. I had to find that way for my grief.
I know all have their way of dealing with grief. I wanted to share what my go-to has been, and it's kept me going and filled me with hope that I can share.
being my husband and I were both Christ followers and redeemed by the blood of Jesus, I first of all knew, " I would see him again". 1Thessalonians 4:16-17 . But, that didn't give me all the hope Jesus speaks of persay. So what God did and does in keeping me filled with hope, Is that there is a good chance that the Rapture will happen in my lifetime.
I have read, and listened to every Rapture message I can find; I have searched scriptures; followed scripture and the signs of the times, and get so excited that it may be sooner than many think.
Each time I see on the news of another sign of the times, I get very excited. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then you have to get excited in knowing that when the trumpet sounds, the true believers will hear, and we will be caught up to meet Jesus in the air. Now that's the HOPE that I can hang onto.
The scripture says, "That as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the last days". Well. see what's happening now. Doesn't it sound like the evil that was in Noah's days? We are there!
If you are grieving, and need hope, consider what I found as my HOPE. Looking for the return of my Savior. I not only get to see Jesus, but, I get to see my loved one again. Now that's a hope I can go through my sorrow and know that it won't be long. When you can see a blessed future it lets you hang on.
As my husband always said, "See you at the gate. I will, sooner than I may realize.
