Every few years I remember that I have a website. It’s been so long since I’ve updated this time that my Twitter account, which no longer exists, was very prominently featured in more than one place, and my “news” page was nothing but events from literal years ago.

I do have news. A Long Game: Notes on Writing Fiction will be published on December 2nd, 2025. It’s a funny thing, writing a book about writing. I managed to remember much of what I think about fiction, but certainly not all of it. It’s now preorderable in all the usual places.

On December 2nd itself, I will be appearing at the 92nd Street Y–a childhood dream, no kidding–with my beloved friends Yiyun Li and Paul Lisicky. The details are here.
