I'm six days out from the release of A Local Habitation, and tired enough that I've started to dream of being able to take naps. It's very recursive, and would probably be fascinating if it wasn't resulting in my waking up cranky because I was in the middle of a very nice nap. It's like two alarm clocks for the price of one!
It doesn't help that I'm currently in the midst of a home invasion. A voluntary one: SJ Tucker and her sweetie, K, have been at my place since yesterday, and Betsy Tinney and her daughter, Katie, will be showing up tonight. (Betsy is a fantastic cellist, and the Maine Coon breeder responsible for Alice Price-Healy Little Liddel Abernathy McGuire, which makes her essentially family.) Oh, and Amy is showing up on Monday. Because the best way to make my book release non-stressful is to make it the least of my concerns, right?
On the whole, I'm taking deep breaths, smiling brightly, and thinking about grabbing my mother, my fiddler, and my banjo player and running off to hide in Disneyworld for a week. Do they have bookstores in Disneyworld?
I'm quite afraid that they do.
