Times changes
Throughout the times that the writer uses the word terms such as Witches and Warlock in their own way. Regular meaning of it is that Witches are based on women while Warlock meant for male. Usually that is right term for it. It really how author intend to use it.
For myself, I use witch for my main male character, because what i want the witch to mean is a person who has good magic while warlocks who has bad magic.
It like I said, it all how writer intend to use. Nothing wrong about that since I know some people agree with that.
For example, seen the show called "Charmed"? Piper Halliwell has two boys who were considered witches. In their world, warlocks who blinks and throws fireballs are considered evil.
So isn't that wrong for male to be a witch? Remember it doesn't base on gender BUT a person who has magical powers, a good kind.
Oh well, people have different opinions which they should have. I thought I mention it.
