Each Friday I will post snippets of one o
f the pieces that I am writing on. So here is this weeks snippet:
It had been a long year; a very long year Kai amended. With a sigh and one final look at the now snow covered garden of his mother’s house, he locked the front door and stomped his way to his waiting car.
Kai hadn’t meant for it to all end like this of course, he had hoped his mother would at least live long enough to see one last solstice, or better yet one last new year. It wasn't to be though; instead he would be burying her exactly one week before the solstice and exactly one month after his failure to keep the dragon at bay. He ground his teeth as he growled and moved his car along the ill-lit, slick, icy streets.
