The Ballad of Peter LaFarge & Rare Breed

I know this doesn't fall into the purview of books, but it's something really cool that I'd like to turn people on to.

Peter LaFarge was an American Indian folksinger. He was very big in the early Greenwich Village folk scene of the late 50’s and early 60’s. LaFarge is credited with being the first folksinger to integrate Native American issues into folk songs and was a pioneer in writing protest songs. He was an influence and early mentor of Bob Dylan, he was friends with Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and other Greenwich Village legends. He lived a life many others could only imagine and died mysteriously in 1965.

The Ballad of Peter LaFarge & Rare Breed is a DVD/CD set. Ballad is a 40 minute video of the life of Peter LaFarge & Rare Breed is a tribute CD with Johnny Cash, and John Densmore or it among many others.
