My free weekend campaign for LAST went better than I expected, with roughly 2000 downloads. On the first day, I only had about 80 downloads and went to bed feeling a bit disappointed. When I got up the next day, I jumped onto Kindle Direct with my phone, and was pleased to see I had over 500 downloads! Over the day, the downloads ticked away until sundown, sending my book into the top 200 of free kindle downloads. I even reached #1 in sci-fi and psychological at various times.

Hopefully I’ll get some reviews out of the free weekend promotion, as well as some word of mouth referrals. I still have three free Kindle days up my sleeve to be used at a later stage. I think I will do a similar “weekend” campaign, perhaps over a three day period. It’s just a matter of getting the timing right.
