I read this quite some time ago, so my descriptions may be off.

The opening scene with the minotaur smoking a cigarette (something so real and greasy about it). The cutting-the-roast beef (or something) scene in the restaurant where he gets replaced (tragic, humiliating). The road trip with the guy (the sort of aimlessness and ennui of life).

I loved this book. Thank you for it.

One of the scenes I still like thinking about is the one where the Minotaur watches a black and white transmission of a bullfight. M's inner struggle with his rational, human side and his natural, violent, wild side is so perfectly conveyed through those lines. Even the fact that the tv is in black and white(If I recall correctly) lends itself to such an in-depth analysis of M's duality. This book is really a hidden gem.
