Songdove Books Newsletter - May 2014 - BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Almost the end of May already!  Where did the time go?!  Does time ever seem to get away on you too?  Incidentally, that's what the last two blog notes written this past week have been about . . . time.  More specifically, time spent busy, or in God's presence and why that matters.

As fast as May has gone by, I've found myself twiddling my thumbs at times as I wait for reviewers/editors to get back to me on my latest book project: A Year in Prayer with Jesus.  An interum report from three of them surprised me, as only one of them had found two edits in the first 50 pages!  Another was ready to write a glowing review and she hadn't even proofed the whole book yet.  A third loved the layout, and I am waiting to hear an interum report from the fourth.

While I've been waiting, I've taken the workshop notes that would have been shared back in April, merged them with my ebook, "Practical Thoughts on Becoming an Author" and created an e-course based on that book.  This is a 19-day course that comes to you via your inbox once per day.  Most of the sessions are short, with a daily task to be completed at the end of each session.  Who might be interested in such a course?

- The person who has had an idea for a book bouncing around their thoughts, but never written it down.
- The person who has begun a rough draft, but unsure what to do next.
- The person who thinks it costs too much to break into publishing.
- The author who is looking for a cheaper way of getting their books out there.

Contents of this course will cover:
- tools that cost very little to no outlay at all.
- Tips on why those tools are needed.
- Instructions on how to use one of them to prepare your manuscript for self-publishing printers.
- Links where you can download various tools
- Links leading to resources and information
etc.

The cost of the course is only $15 and it's a one-time fee for the full 19 day duration of the course.  Because this is an e-course, from time to time content may change or get updated to reflect new information coming down  the pipe.  If you get word of a significant change that you want to walk through, you are more than welcome to purchase the course again to learn the new content.

The purchase/sign-up link for this course is:  https://gum.co/eCPTBA  The little giftbox icon beside your name box when you click "I want this", allows you to purchase this course for a friend as well.  Feel free to pass this link around to those you know who may be interested in what it takes to get a book idea from concept to print-ready with very little financial outlay.

"Mom's Little Black Book: Godly Advice for the HIgh School Graduate" has been purchased for 5 high school graduates this year so far!  That's 5 students entering college or university or diving into work, armed with tidbits of both parental advice as well as guidance from God's Word.  If you know a graduating student, why not get this as a grad gift for them too?

Songdove Books has just made an appearance on eBay as of this weekend (http://www.ebay.ca/usr/songdovebooks), so feel free to try bidding on it at a cheaper price than the $10 or $12 you'll find it elsewhere online.  All paperback books to date under the Songdove Books imprint are now available on eBay as well.  Clicking my songdovebooks username will take you to my profile, where you can then click "see all items" to see all 9 paperbacks in print.  Shipping is $7 standard shipping, or $22 expedited shipping.  Shipping times vary by location and size of the order.

There isn't a lot of news this month.  I've been taking the May 2014 Book Marketing Challenge, which helped firm up the plans I've had for my tiny ebook and light the fire under me to get the course ready for launch.  You can learn more about the Book Marketing Challenge at this link here:  http://buildabusinesswithyourbook.com/access/aff/go/songdove

We're a few days early with this newsletter, but I wanted to fire off this newsletter to time it with announcements to the world about the e-course.  So that's the news for today.  I encourage you to visit my blog and read the entries on time and rest. http://songdove.fa-ct.com/wordpress-mu/songdovemusings/
