Zombies movies versus Zombie books! Personally, it all depends on the make-up and zombie cast budget on a movie (and the script- but that goes without saying), whereas a book, you don't have to limit yourself to one location (although, there's nothing wrong with the occasional farmhouse siege). You can have a cast of a thousand surging zombies attack an entire city,and have them as rotten as you like. On paper there's no limit!
