Tomorrow I will answer the final queries from my publisher about the proof-read of my new book, The Soldier's Wife.
But if you look for that title under Freeman, you won't find it. I am being rebranded.
The Soldier's Wife is an historical novel set in World War I, and follows the life of the newly-wed Ruby after her husband leaves for Gallipolli, and after he comes home, wounded. It was inspired by my grandfather's war record (and I've made Freemie a character in the story).
The Sales Dept at Hachette Australia found, with my adult fantasy novels, that booksellers thought of me as a children's writer, so they have decided I needed a pen name for these novels (I'm about to begin my second!).
My husband's name is Hart, so it was an easy choice. (And my mother-in-law is very very pleased!) I think Pamela Hart is a nice name for an historical novelist. What d'you reckon?
