This is going to be my 5th year doing
NaNoWriMo the insanity that is National Novel Writing Month where you write a 50,000 word (that's the goal) novel in 30 days. It starts November 1st and ends November 30th. This is my fifth year doing it, with four prior wins--though two of the prior books are unfinished and sitting on my harddrive waiting for me to finish them. One of them needs major reworking, the other needs about another 20,000 words to be 'done' and ready to for beta reading. (And I need a new beta reader as my former one 'retired' to become a writer herself.)
I'm really excited about my project for this year. I'll be doing a non-erotic novel, something with zombies because they're what's hot and the craze seems to be building, rather than cresting.
I have a basic plot, a few characters and a general idea of where the story is going. Very general actually since the plot consists of 'people turn into zombies' and then everyone who isn't a zombie has to stay alive. Pretty basic, right?
Anyway, I have a little more work to do on additional characters so I'm going to get that done.
Two days until NaNo starts and I'm anticipating getting started at midnight on November 1st. I'm actually eager to get going on this book, which is something that's been lacking for the last year.
For anyone else out there doing NaNo, GOOD LUCK and may the muse of your choice smile on you.
