Diane Oh, Lisa--you should have seen me trying to RETURN money after my mother died. Her pension was overpaid. I notified them of her death and they kept paying for FOUR months. I even had the estate lawyer talking to the company when I couldn't get the simple answer to "how do I return this?" Eventually I gave up. Until a week before tax time, when I had a letter from some eejit in their collections department threatening to sue me for keeping this money that was not mine. And to add insult to injury, they wanted the gross--not net--payment returned as they did not want the hassle of dealing with the feds in correcting THEIR error. Don't die. It's simpler that way.
