I know that summer is a time for fiction, but you know what, some books are better than fiction! For those of you who read my most recent book, THE LOST SISTERHOOD, and are hungry to spend more time with the Amazons, I wholeheartedly recommend Adrienne Mayor's fascinating book: THE AMAZONS -- Lives & Legends of warrior women across the ancient world (2014). The language is brilliant and engaging, and the discoveries are as exciting as any treasure hunt; sorry to sound like a cliche, but Adrienne Mayor truly makes history come to life.
