The Summer Before the War is off and running

My second novel, The Summer Before the War, will be published March 22, 2016 and is now available for preorder. It has a cover too which should now be online and can be seen on my website at www.helensimonson.com. If I were not such a Luddite I would upload an image here but alas it is beyond my tech skills. My husband wants to know how long I plan to rest on my laurels and when I will be getting to work on book three. Sigh, no rest for the lazy writer...

Eszter Dear Helen!

Looking forward to reading your new book. BTW, I'm a goodreads librarian, so I've just uploaded the cover image for the hardcover edition. Just tell me, if you need more help.

Shannon Teper So excited about the upcoming book! The first was such a wonderful story. While March is a long way away, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait!

Almira So now I am having to wait for yet another book by a favorite author! Hurry up March

message 7: by Pippa (new)

Pippa I've just pre-ordered from Amazon. I'm looking forward to reading it.

message 8: by Almira (new)

Almira Well, I don't do Amazon, I am strictly an independent bookstore owner patron - keep small business part of our economy - but I am glad that you decided to order it.

message 9: by Pippa (new)

Pippa Good for you Almira, I live in New Zealand. Books are so expensive here. So until publishers realise they can't protect the industry in the age of global shopping I'll continue to buy from the US via Amazon. And I run a small business myself too. Independent booksellers have been decimated in New Zealand - they survive by specializing.

Helen Simonson Happy Holidays Goodreads friends. March 22, 2016 seems just around the corner from my viewpoint. I'm trying to put off feeling nervous until the New Year!! Don't forget you can also often pre-order in the USA from your favorite independent bookstore through INDIEBOUND. But I myself am grateful for Amazon to send my Holiday gifts to relatives in the UK and France. Here's to a wonderful New Year for all of us - and a small incremental move towards peace on earth would be my dearest wish...
