^^^To me, Chaol was written so much deeper than Tamlin. I read all the throne of glass books released so far. It's one of the reasons why it's hard for me to believe how Tamlin was portrayed in acomaf. But at the same time, he really needs someone to break the curse. He could have a manipulative personality (which did not seem obvious in acotar) and it becomes even more evident in acomaf. It also wouldn't benefit him to act that way in acotar when he needs someone to break the curse. Lucien did tell Feyre in acomaf, "He didn't care for you the way he does now. And after what happened Under the Mountain..." The way I interpret this statement would most likely be different from others. Then again, Maas wrote this years ago? I heard she wrote it at 16?? If she did write this for the change in love interest, then she would've written it to her advantage? The way the fans would want? She would've ended it with acotar or wrote a happy ending with feyre and tamlin together in acomaf. But these are just my thoughts though. I just assume that there would be more feylin fans. I just slightly preferred rhysand because he was a much more interesting character (in my opinion). There was also a subtle foreshadowing in the beginning, like Feyre painting the night sky on her drawer.
The way I see it, there's a beast behind Tamlin and Rhys, as well as Feyre. :)

I only read the first THRONE OF GLASS book but I heard she does something similar with Chaol in that series. All i have to say about that is that at least Chaol does seem to have a side of him that is very much a part of the "system" and he seems to be someone who has a militant mind. He never seems that perfect to me but I did like the idea of him and the main character being together. But I feel Tamlin was written so much deeper than Chaol (granted, I haven't read the other Throne books so maybe this is wrong).
Ugh. So many sads right now!
