I never actually thought about this perspective before but I agree with you 100%
Maxon is better because he didn't give up on her when everything started to become harder and more difficult. On the other hand, Aspen decided to break up with her because he didn't have money. I think if he really wanted her he wouldn't have let go, but I do understand his reasons for breaking up with her.
I am team Maxon. The things he says/shares with her makes them connect in a deeper way than she did with Aspen. Love Aspen too though.
Okay, so I am team Maxon 100%. When I was first reading the selection, my annotations were like "No I miss Aspen!" But then when I met Maxon I was like "Never mind Aspen go away" You know? Now that I've read the entire series including the heir and the crown I think that it's so amazing that Maxon's and America's love has still stayed as strong as it was 20 years later. I also love Aspen and Lucy. I think that Aspen did truly love Ames but I think he does belong with Lucy. Before I read the heir and the crown I hated Aspen with a passion because he was getting in the way of maxerica but now I actually like him, don't get me wrong I still adore Maxon and I do think he belongs with Ames, Aspen said he would do anything for Eady and she said she sees him as a second father figure. I personally see Aspen and America as a wrong person wrong time or a platonic soulmates type thing.
I had the same feeling because when Aspen broke up with America I was upset and they way america thought of maxon I didn´t really like Maxon but now I am 100% for Maxon and I have never been happier that they got married which was so sweet in the very end of ¨The One¨
When you fist meet Aspen it's kinda like he's more into her physically than anything else then you see he does love her back. When you first meet Maxon it's perfect. He's not your typical prince and he made that impression right on the dot. Then after Aspen broke up with America and America was falling for Maxon, Aspen already had his chance and he blew it. Maxon is the best.
I feel as if Maxon and Aspen are so similar to a point. I mean, obviously, they both love America. But they both have unique qualities that drag America to them. Aspen has known America almost he whole life. While Maxon tried as hard as he could just to be able to get to know her. They both love her, so personally I think that they both are good for her. But I bet if America were here she would be exasperated by how many good points we've made about these (Hot) men. hehhe
