I know! I had no idea until the book told me! When I read that, I had to go back and read it until it clicked. Then I was like..."Ohhh!!"
It was a wired when it frist saidit both me and my friend went really but after that it was easy to picture him.

I was picturing him as a white kids too (I don't know why, I just was) and then I figured out his ethnicity exactly when you did hmm.
