Ed LeGuin is certainly one of my favorites, and may be one of very few sf writers to be read by my generation's great-grandchildren. I don't think that many people will be reading the vast majority of "golden age of sf" writers except as curiosities.

Mind Bird The problem I have with the current writers is too much fantasy, or too much absurdity.

Matthew Tracy I agree with Mind Bird. I wish more new writers would go back to Heinlein and add just one or two scifi/fantasy elements to the real world. This would lend to a much more intriguing examination of modern society through scifi elements.
