YES! Thank you. I have read the first two so far and though I enjoy them on the whole, there are parts that make me want to scream. She is almost willfully ignorant at times and gets herself into some of the stupidest, dangerous situations for no good reason. You're being stalked by a dangerous psychopath that has broken into your house and yet you decide to tail him around a sketchy part of town alone, even though you routinely talk to at least 2 police officers. Yup, great plan.
It is for that very reason (doing dumb things that seem out of character with the character) that I usually get annoyed with series, especially when the main character is a woman. Men seem to be drinkers and depressed but otherwise seem to be thinking, fully functioning human beings. Or I'm just more tolerant. I have been reading Reichs' books but out of order and not in a mad rush to complete the series, so while I do get annoyed, its not yet to the point where I decide to never pick up another one.
