I thought it was more like Tess wondering if Meg didn't think she was apredator, while all the other terre indigne were afraid of her.
My reading was like Suzanne's, but Kyle might be onto something there. Interesting, that could play either way.
I was thinking the same thing because of the specific words Tess used while she wrote down the prophecy.
