Michelle Kamka Hmm you're right. But not all adaptations turn out to be disasters. Just look at 12 Years a Slave, Wolf of Wall Street, The Pianist and many others. It all depends on the producers' choices and how good is the director. For The Storyteller, I think Agnieszka Holland will be nice :)

Lauren I tell people all the time to read "My Sisters Keeper" book and don't judge it by the movie, lol.

Pauline Turk Like Nicolas Sparks movies are so removed from the books, the story is ruined, so no to a 'storyteller' movie. BTW the recipe for Minka's rolls are out of this world!

Kate I'm not sure, but I think I probably agree. The Storyteller was fantastic and had me hooked from beginning to end as most of Jodi Picoult's novels do. This one particularly blew me away. I think it would be lost on the screen. The only Jodi Picoult novel I don't like is My Sister's Keeper - unfortunately I saw the film first (something I rarely do) and I think it ruined what should have been an interesting and ethically thought-provoking read
