Manny Thank you Saman! I must compile a list of honorable mentions when I've thought about it some more...

Robert Would you realy want to be on the wrong end of the whole Incompleteness Theorem debacle, though?

Anthony Enough idle chatter

Manny Okay... I also gave strong consideration to (in chronological order) Plato, Shakespeare, Richard Burton, Hermann Weyl and Richard Feynman. If Russell's not available, I'll more than happy to take any of those.

Anyone with a chance of making this list is going to have been wrong about at least a couple of really important things. I want someone with an interesting life, right?

message 8: by Robert (new)

Robert Well, if you chose a fiction author that wouldn't be an issue.

message 9: by Manny (new)

Manny I beg to differ. For example, have you noticed how wrong Shakespeare is about Joan of Arc?

message 10: by Biju (new)

Biju Is the historical Caesar and Shakespeare's Caesar same?

message 11: by Robert (new)

Robert Whether or not a history play counts as fiction is debatable...but if you chose e.g. Tolkien there'd be no ambiguity.

Manny I don't know about the breath, but there's no reasonable doubt about the babes...
