Hi! It was not intentional, though I've seen a few people interpret it that way in photo edits they've made.
Have you considered partnering with an author of color? Obviously, it's not a simple process, but your style of alternating chapters between characters could lend to having two authors to reflect different experiences more fairly.
Would you ever team up with an author of color to write something? Also I saw that you loved Red at the Bone and was wondering if you've Read Memphis by Tara M Stringfellow? I think you would enjoy it.
