Tish
Tish asked Chloe Liese:

Chloe, I am becoming such a big fan of yours. Thank you for writing such beautiful love stores. The Bergman Brothers has captured my heart and I have suggested it to everyone I know. My question for you is, do you think you will ever write a heroine of color. Dark skin and all? I'd love to see one of the Bergman brothers fall for a heroine that looks like me.

Chloe Liese Hi Tish! Thanks so much for talking to me about this. I truly want to see a Bergman brother fall for a heroine who looks like you too, and I'm trying to figure out the most respectful, authentic way to do that. While listening and learning from Black authors and other authors of color, I'm hearing a strong message that their stories are not a white woman's to tell. And yet I want my book worlds to reflect the world I live in--diverse in color, background, disability, sexuality--so I'm trying to consider how I can do this. I don't have a concrete answer *yet*, but please know I am actively working to have one. Please stay tuned and know how much I appreciate you and this inquiry.
