Interesting. Chinese history is something that people aren't particularly interested in or even aware of in the states but I feel for fantasies like A Song of Fire and Ice and war epics there's a lot of inspiration to draw from in early Chinese history.

Totally agree. The Red Cliffs battle of the Three Kingdoms era seems to be the darling of the Chinese film industry. I think a Hollywood/Chinese collaboration on films like this would be a good idea. HBO might want to think about it's international audiences by doing something like this.
