I think your point about maintaining the actions is spot on. Also, for a lot of people, amazing success might not equate to celebrity status that others would see. For some it's service, or parenting, or a well-rounded life.
Most people struggle by leaving their comfort zone. And I believe they need a stronger WHY to their goals. And they must forget about only focusing on money as a goal.
I think too that you have to apply the principles that they are outlining in their books (consistency, knowing your why, working hard, etc...) also has to be applied to these products too... you can't just listen once. Have to listen and apply practices consistently, know why you need to, and work hard at listening through your self doubt and regret. Tony changed my WORLD!
Change does require a commitment to an outcome and taking action. Tony Robbins's work has definitely impacted my life as has Brendon Burchard's work and John Assaraf's work.
Jason I think answer of your question is amazingly simple
Knowladge is not a power putting knowladge to work is power!
Lots of people read, but how many use what is written in those books?
Yes! so I think that a lot of self help people will get stuck in this rut where they get the drug of inspiration and then simply not follow through. It's very much a hard struggle to claw yourself out of this rut but you have no other choice and the books are there to help provide fuel to your motivation or teach you about how to motivate yourself and to also cut down your learning curve but they can never do the work for you. It always comes down to what you actually do with what you learn.
Read Brian Tracy if you haven't already. A lot of people complain about his books saying the same thing over and over again but the thing is, repetition is the name of the game in that aspect. You want to read the same information over and over and then act on it because it will come into your mind and stay there.
