Teeter Blair Yes, and the irony is that Hitler was trying to create leaders through this process, but the best of them couldn't survive.

Jane Cote Frederick the dreamy bird-lover was a leader? No way. He did demonstrate moral courage, though, in refusing to douse the prisoner with a bucket of water. Question - was he killed or just injured? I'm only half way through and maybe he reappears later?

Amanda He resisted. He knew the consequences, and didn't care. He couldn't bring himself to follow mindlessly. Frederick was an example of how, even as a youth, one could open their eyes, much as Jutta did. Does that make the other youth who followed monsters? Some of them yes, others maybe not, they were scared.

Tito Titus I don't know that Frederick was a leader, but he was certainly true to his ownself. This haunted his best buddy, that he too could not be so true to his own truth
