No is the christian festival and pagan festival in origin so you tell me does two evil together make a right?
Next you'll be telling me that it's inappropriate to celebrate the judicial murder of Christ by eating chocolate eggs.
I thought we were eating the Bunny, which I am really at a loss to associate with Christ but I guess if you can fit three persons into one God, it should have some very neat explanation. Also I am always in favor of eating chocolate, so I guess we know have anohter answer to what did the Romans ever did for us.
I think we can anticipate the answer will be very interesting and potentially a theological breakthrough, which I am given to understand, do not come along very often .
You guys seem to have divided the world into two disjoint subsets: Christians who celebrate Christmas and other-than-Christians who don’t. My own experience is more nuanced. The vast majority of my Southern California neighbors celebrate Christmas but are not Christians by any objective standards; indeed not a few would profess belief in some other religion (including atheism, which has its own doctrines) altogether. And many dozens of my own friends are Christians and don’t celebrate Christmas because it is in fact a pagan holiday. I personally have not wished anyone a “Merry Christmas,” given or accepted a Christmas present, etc. since before either of you fellows were born.
