“ No one will have noticed that I never use the term doctor for 5GU medicos.” I have. I do not have a doctorate, but I have several as friends, and one brother. They tend to use the term “physician” to avoid confusion (and possibly to put them in their place).

Thank you for the speedy reply. Noticing this reminded me again of how I get a different experience reading a story and listening to it. I read the original Penric's Demon several times, but for the past couple of years at least I have not read it, since I have it as one of my go to audiobooks to listen when under stress, and have listened to it so much. But this re-read, I notice things that I hadn't before. A great story and world.

The Doctor is a time-travelling eccentric with a blue box, who hasn’t been seen so far in the World of the Five Gods. Wouldn’t that be a strange crossover…
