Brok3n Is it not rather a wonderful thing to realize that some people are just meeting for the first time a character you created 33 years ago?

Lois Bujold Indeed it is.

Back in The Day, received wisdom was that most original paperbacks would only last a couple of years at most in the marketplace, thereafter to languish unreprinted forever. I am profoundly grateful to have beaten those odds.

Jerri When I first read Jole/Red Queen, and Miles and family went to visit the battleships in storage, so to speak, I felt certain that they would encounter Cavilo attempting to steal some of them. The other time I expected to see her was as the giver of the pearls in Winterfair Gifts. Of course, it wasn't so. But that is what I thought when first reading each of those.
