I agree! I waited the whole book for their stories to finally catch up with each other, and then they were only together for a short time. I wish they had more time together. But that would've probably made Werner's death even more tragic.

Being the hopeless romantic that I am...was hoping they would become romantically involved...but this was not a love story...
I, too, wished they would have become romantically involved.... they both had such a highly developed sense of perception about what was going on with other people around them, and able to spot the truth of a situation. I loved that about both of them.
In all honesty, I would have loved a kiss. This seemed like a rushed romance without it
I wish there had been more interaction between the two of them as well.
