Jerri Thank you for the quick reply, and my apologies for getting Dubro and Iroki confused. Both small town fellows, but I should be able to remember that in addition to being sorcerer and saint, Dubro first appeared as an elderly man and Iroki was much younger.

And, thank you also for the clear explanation, I believe I now understand. When I first read Curse of Chalion long before Penric was developed, I admit to finding the gods and their interactions with the humans of that world to be very confusing. Penric's tales have helped me clarify my thoughts.

Talli Ruksas I'm not really clear on what other saints do besides those of the Bastard removing (or not) demons. I've read all the 5G books more than once but maybe because I've read Penric several times it's clearer.

Jerri Well, it seems like the saints of the Father are good at knowing if a witness is telling the truth or lying. At least that is what the one in Assassins was doing.

Margaret I also remember the one Cazaril met commenting how knowing that wasn't always as helpful as one might think.
