Jeannie I agree. I think Frederick's parents were "social climbers" and this would help move them along.

Razcads Agree here.. i think the premise here was a simple as you have put. A case with most simple parents.. u want ur kid to get to the most prestigious wherever so u can show to the pride to your social circles.. ofcourse nothing wrong with it, if it helps the kid.. And usually likes of the kid is not known.. maybe the kid is very nice or parents just shrug things off
