thecatsaesthetics So you ignore evidence you don't like? It wasn't very likely it was proven fact by the winter/spring of 1485 that Richard had arranged these matches and Joanna of Portugal had accepted him.

Suzanne Reed Theamazingcat: back off. I take exception to some of the details in Ms. Gregory's books, too. I am not an historian; I am an arm-chair historian, but she writes mostly for the entertainment of her fans and from the perspective of the main character of the book. Most of the books are written in first person. You are being unreasonably cruel in your comments. Oh, and get your "there" and "their" correct.

thecatsaesthetics Sorry I'm not at my computer when I write mainly I'm at on my car and I don't think in take away from the point by forgetting the wrong "there".
An arm chair historian isn't a historian, a historian is someone who has studied at a university or a college, at best your what is called an amateurs historian. Bu a historian over all is a title.
And most people are forgetting the point, I have no problem with Mrs Gregory writing fiction what I'm against is her calling herself a "historian" and her saying her books are accurate these are her claims not mine. These are words take from her mouth, so if she's "completely accurate" as she claims why did she not included the highly known marriages Richard III was a planning to make? What makes her think that this wasn't real or that Richard was seriously considering a match to his niece.
If she says "well my work is fiction" fine but she continually says she bases her works on facts an that she doesn't make things up. She said this in this very q&a a few questions up yet she claims right here that she ignored the matches for her own artist liscense.
She can't have her cake and eat it too. And somebody needs to call her out on this.
Also various documentaries often site her as a historian when she can't get simply facts suh as Cecily of York's birth date right in her novel the Red Queen.
