I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for not writing cliff hangers. I don't think it's possible for me to be effusive enough to convey the proper degree of appreciation I feel for that and the work you put into writing an ending.
Cliff hangers feel manipulative to me and leave a very bad taste in my mouth regardless of how much I've enjoyed the book. Given that my thoughts as I was closing Traitor's Blade was "that was fun and I can't wait for more" it is more than gratifying to know that I don't have to worry about closing your books feeling fish-hooked.
Thank you. Seriously.
That's wonderful to hear, Suz - thank you! I completely agree with you about cliffhangers. I think they tend to work much better in the context of television where you know you're going to see the story progress in the following week. At the end of a novel or a movie or even a television season, it's better to have big questions about what might happen next rather than feeling like the final scene was cut off at the last second. Again, delighted that you enjoyed Traitor's Blade and I hope you enjoy Knight's Shadow even more.

Your description hooked me, so I've added it to my Goodreads list.
I'm always a bit cautious about beginning any series in case it turns out to not be as interesting as it seemed from the cover/reviews/etc. There are just too many good books out there to read.
And not nearly enough time....
