Thank you for your response! Some of the best characters jut come up out of the blue. I must say that Dustfinger is my favorite from the series followed closely by Meggie. Basta is indeed a pitiful character. I always got the impression that he was either looking to gain power from his superiors, or that he had low self confidence, maybe he had been rejected before, and just wanted to make someone like him (he always reminded me of a puppy, wanting to easily please no matter the cost). Wonderful series. It's awesome that I can talk with you about your characters!
