I imagine many, if not most, authors ordering Ingenue #2 and Wicked Stepfather #8 from Authorzon and unsealing the clamshell to get at the pleather and plasticine homunculus within. I throw my book budget at those I find who don't do that. (SIde note, I own all your books.)
