I'm convinced that Cumberbatch can do anything and would make a fantastic Pendergast--he's got the build and the pale skin. Absolutely love your books, BTW!
Wow a young Christopher Walken! Now that you say it, I can see it.
I can see his face working, but the tone & accent of the voice is very important too. FYI...Pendergast is my favorite character of all time! The ending of Crimson Shore about gave me a heart attack!
I see both a actors in the part too. As Penders is virtually albino, perhaps an unknown actor to make him truly fresh and individual? Plus give opportunity for a new actor to shine.
