I adore dave and tracy, and I can absolutely see the tonal influence on sharing knife - post-modern mythic americana.
Would you welcome suggestion for new music? Realizing, of course that much new music is actually old music performed by new, wonderful artists. I'm thinking of guitarist Sharon Isbin, or the Assad brothers, Sergio and Odair.
I write only non-fiction, unfortunately, but I find it feasible to write to instrumental music (no distracting words); so I have an iTunes playlist of instrumental music for the purpose.
