I saw a wonderful interview of Karen Joy Fowler where she mentioned that, after perusing bookstores, found that her first novel, Sarah Canary, had been classified in 4 different sections in the various bookstores, from Sci-fi to fantasy, mystery and general fiction. She found it quite amusing.

I have the pleasure of meeting her when she taught at Cornell this spring -- she was even kind enough to come to my reading at Buffalo Street Books.
