Kimber Thank you so much. I've never heard of a Black Russian Terrier, but he's gorgeous. I can't imagine what your vacuum cleaner looks like when it's emptied

Janice Beautiful names for the dogs. I love Borzois, and wouldn't mind having one, though I guess a Windhound might be a better choice for me, since I've never owned a dog before, just...love them.

Kimber Yes, Janice, all dogs are incredible - best members of my family by far ;) . Sighthounds of any type are lovely, though greyhounds are my preference due to the fact that most of them are rescues and they need and deserve all the love we can give them. If you've never owned a dog, might I suggest looking at a Whippet? They are smaller and so people have fewer problems with worrying about their size. They are also much easier to teach recall than a rescue greyhound who has been taught NOT to listen when they are flying after a moving object! It can feel like you're confining them when you can't let them off lead EVER unless they are in a safe, enclosed space...and even then not necessarily. I once had a lady just calm as you please open the gate to the dog park and let mine ....go OUT. On his own! I was flabbergasted and once I caught him ( I say, I, when it was actually some nice guys) nearly half a mile away!!! Not even joking about how far it was, we were so lucky he wasn't hit by a car! He had no idea how much danger there was, he was just trotting along at a leisurely pace I could never hope to match...and very few people can, either. They aren't called the 45mph couch potato for nothing. :)

OTOH, Whippets have many sighthound qualities that are incredible...and they are a bit like a pocket hound without being nervous (like Italian greyhounds are nervous and sometimes difficult to potty train - little bladders you know), they are cuddly AND small enough to be lap dogs. While these girlz are Iggys - they'll give you something to smile about. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqn_...

Janice I love whippets, and I've even seen photos of long haired whippets. I love those too, and I don't care if the AKC doesn't accept them. I've always have loved dogs, even though I've never own any.
