Kelvin Jones Lovely to hear from you,Derek. Hope you are both well and enjoying life in the west! It's been interesting for me to live long enough to see the virtual revolution in media, forcing traditional publishers to adapt or perish at the rise of the independent author. All I can say is that lit. agents must be having a bad time... power to the people! Im a member of the CWA and there's quite a debate between the old, reactionary print only brigade and the ebook crowd. I wouldnt think twice now about doing a simultaneous digital and pbk edition. It makes sense. Happy Cromer memories then! Yes its a fine old place with many trees and a beautiful coastline. Near us is a wood where are the remains of the hotel where, in 1901 Conan Doyle and his friend Fletcher Robinson, cooked up the genesis of the Hound. I have written a little book about this and would love the council to erect a plaque! Our intended purchase of a flat in Penzance has hit problems, cest la vie! Meanwhile we shall look for Black Shuck! Yes, that's kind of you to ask me to do a blog contribution...what kind of thing would I ask...?

Derek Hi Kelvin. Well, We could do a blog Q&A to promote one of your books or you could send in something about an aspect of writing, or your approach to your craft. (Or even a commentary on the 'new' publishing model.) Feel free to drop me a line at earthlight@btinternet.com Kind regards, Derek

Derek I joined ITW (International Thriller Writers), which may be useful for networking.
