Jonathan Palfrey Thanks, I’ve made a note of those dates for possible future reference. Penric’s documented activities already span more than 20 years; perhaps we could think of him being born around 1320-equivalent. Bearing in mind that those dates mean nothing in his own world.

Although Ista is a great character and I’d be keen to read more about her, I realize it’s not going to happen unless you get an idea that fits. Also, her story has already reached a sufficiently satisfactory ending. Her life would continue in probably quite interesting ways, and there could well be more novels in it; but, if the ideas don’t come to you, there isn’t really a dramatic need to continue her story.

I don’t think I’m sexist about fiction: I’m happy to read about characters of whatever sex (or none), and I particularly like some of your female characters: Ista, Ekaterin, Hallana, etc.

Mitali I'm very glad that TWot5G is not our world, because if it were, those dates would mean that poor Pen would be living through the Black Plague! I assume he himself would make it through alive (with Des's help, of course), but probably not with his sanity intact (considering the physical and mental torture he went through in PoV, and that was just a "minor" plague outbreak).
