Yes, thank you, L; stick with what worked! Pour Carl and eventually pour Aral but the story is the story; everyone has hard times. Harry and Hermione both wanted family, not another lonely isolation; why can't people see the story that is there? Other options are for fanfic.
Aral learned a tremendous life as well as leadership lesson from his decision to execute Carl. I'm always heartbroken when I read that chapter and appreciate LMB's creation of all the events that occur from his mistaken decision.
