My parents came from interesting times, too. My mom was raised in the oilfields of East Texas during the oil boom, while the rest of the country was struggling through the Depression. My dad was raised on a farm in Central Texas and, while they usually had food, they didn't have anything else. He helped wire the house for electricity when he was in high school in the 50s. I'm an adult now and I still believe he could have done anything - except ask for help. I'm looking forward to your book and to getting to know your parents. What a lovely way to keep them with you.
