I'm part way through the 3rd book, and Bobby is my favorite too. I love watching how the athlete comes together with the scholarship needed to be a teacher, though I'm uncomfortable with her making out with a student! I know the student was 18, but this is a post-Tampa society we're living in ;)
Thank Melanie! I was definitely channeling our lesbian pulp heritage when I went with the student-teacher relationship. See also Valerie Taylor's "Whisper Their Love," "Olivia" and lots of less high profile pulps which up the lurid & trashy quotient and make Bobby look quite G-rated. I knew having her get it on with a student was breaking a taboo, but I felt like it would be wrong NOT to include it!
