Andrew Van Ness I'm working my way through a Tuchman, I have a Hart on a back shelf somewhere, and T.E. Lawrence is definitely on my list! I'll have to hit some of those others! Thanks so much!

Carol Also check out Lao Tzu. As I recall, the book was not very long. And I think Captain Ky Tung liked to quote him.

Andrew Van Ness Thanks Carol :)

Mai-Anh While I think there was a place in his sizable mental library of quotations for Daoist works of all kinds, Commodore Tung was more liable to quote Sun Tzu, of "The Art of War" fame.

Carol Sorry about that - I should have checked the book itself instead of going by memory. Art of War was indeed the title I had in mind.

Steve I read *Bat Bomb* on a previous recommendation by author Kenneth Oppel, who used the incident as part of the inspiration for his children's novel, *Sunwing*. It is part of a terrific fantasy series featuring bats.

Celtic "I don't think you realize how far down and murky the depths of my mind are by now." I can relate to that I don't even want to think how frustrated I'd be on a daily basis about 'you know that book/film ..." etc without access to the internet in my pocket. It's nice to be living in the future!
