Laer Carroll My solution for ereading is two-fold. An iPad mini which for me is just the right balance between a larger screen than on my smartphone, and lighter weight. And my smartphone, the largest available the Note 4.

By the way, always get the latest MINUS ONE of most devices. Cheaper than the "latest and greatest" but usually also great.

Kate My favorite solution to this is the Levo brand stand. It has a heavy square metal base (for ballast), on swivel wheels, and an extendable swivel top, with a adjustable "plate surface" with holes to "bungee cord" attach the reading pad of choice. Extremely sturdy and well designed. Well worth it!

Susan I got one of those triangular cushions for Christmas. It has little 'trays' on which to balance the ereader, and can be angled differently depending on which surface you use as the 'bottom'. I have found it very handy!

Jonathan Palfrey I thought I preferred paper books, and was resistant to e-books. But my wife gave me a Kindle for Christmas 2011 (at which time I was 57 years old), and I was surprised to find I liked it. I've rebought most of my favourite books in Kindle form, and now I very rarely buy a book on paper. Apart from the Kindle itself, I sometimes read using the Kindle program on my computer, which offers a bigger screen and a search facility.
