I think that it is character driven, and that there isn't some grand 25 novel plot is what makes me love the books more. It's a series I can always come back to, because although what happened in Cyador or the White Order certainly has rippling effects through other novels, it's okay that I've been away from those tales for some time; the plots aren't connected. It leaves me free to love and root for the characters; to hope they do well, to feel pride when they discover something new, to feel satisfied when their part in the tale is done and they can settle into quiet lives.
